International legal practice Osborne Clarke is advising CVI UK Ltd, a company formed at the direction of Berry Bros. & Rudd and Atlantis Wine Holding, a Symington Family Estates company, on its recommended £22.3 million takeover offer for Hambledon Vineyard plc.

Under the offer, each Hambledon ordinary and B ordinary shareholder will be entitled to receive 180 pence in cash for each share held in Hambledon, valuing the company at approximately £22.3 million. The transaction is being effected by way of a contractual takeover and was announced on the 25th September 2023.

Berry Bros. & Rudd is Britain's oldest wine and spirit merchant, founded in 1698, and holds two Royal Warrants from H.M. The Queen and H.R.H. The Prince of Wales. The Symington Group is one of the world's leading producers of premium port, the leading vineyard owner in the Douro Valley and one of the top Portuguese wine producers. The de-facto parent entity of the Symington Group, Symington Family Estates, holds a Royal Warrant from H.M. The Queen as suppliers of Graham's Port.
