Osborne Clarke advises Brompton on strategic investment from Decathlon PULSE and BA Capital

Published on 3rd July 2026

International legal practice Osborne Clarke has advised Brompton, the iconic British folding bike company, on its new strategic partnership with Decathlon PULSE, the investment and innovation arm of Decathlon, and BA Capital, a Shanghai-based venture capital firm. The partnership follows a secondary liquidity event through which Decathlon PULSE and BA Capital have each acquired a minority shareholding in Brompton, becoming long-term strategic partners in the business.

Osborne Clarke advised Brompton on the secondary liquidity event, negotiations with the new strategic investors and arrangements governing their long-term partnership. The transaction highlights the firm's strength in international transactions at the intersection of sustainability, mobility and retail.

The new partnership will support Brompton’s next phase of global growth and its ambition to accelerate the adoption of cycling as a core solution for urban mobility.

Advising Brompton on this strategically important step in its growth journey demonstrates our firm's ability to support purpose-driven businesses on complex, cross-border transactions, helping them secure the right long-term partners while preserving the culture and values that underpin their success.
