Our international commitment to diversity and inclusion
As a firm we are only as good as our people.
That's why our commitment to excellence is also a commitment to diversity and inclusion.
To deliver the very best advice and great service, we need a diverse set of brilliant minds that can see all the angles and understand the challenges our clients will face, now and in the future. To achieve this, we will continue to build an international legal business that reflects the diversity of our communities and clients.
Like most law firms, we have a high proportion of female lawyers, and we want to see them progress into our partnership. Across all of our teams, we want to increase the number of women in senior roles. Gender is only one of a number of areas where we want to see progress. We will seek new ways of widening access to our sector, breaking down barriers and bringing in a strong mix of experiences and viewpoints.
As an international business with offices around the world, we know that diversity will take different forms. That's why our commitments will drive local actions we know will get us closer to our collective goals.
We will pursue gender equality in all we do, including promotions, recruitment and succession planning, and take concrete steps to make sure more of our women progress into partnership and leadership roles – both in our legal and business services teams.
Bias exists, but that doesn't mean we can't disrupt it. That's why we continue to grow our awareness and understanding of bias, how it affects our decisions and what we can do to avoid it.
We will build a workforce as diverse as our societies, attracting, recruiting and developing the diverse talent our business needs. We'll do that by engaging with social mobility and cultural diversity projects in our communities.
We know the importance of leadership in delivering change. Our international management team and partnership are fully invested in our programme and have committed to putting in place the structures that will allow everybody to achieve their true potential regardless of their background.
