UK Knowledge Collection | Clean energy, data centres and sustainability, and compliance seminar

Published on 24th October 2025

Welcome to this week's Knowledge Collection

Tree surrounded by buildings

The UK government has recently published a Clean Energy Jobs Plan setting out how it intends to deliver the skilled workforce required for the UK to achieve its clean energy goals. It has also introduced amendments to the Planning and Infrastructure Bill to target faster delivery of clean energy and infrastructure projects, focusing on onshore wind projects. Our regular update on the UK's energy transition considers these developments, and our in-person seminar in Bristol next month looks in more detail at the steps being taken by the government to make more land available for onshore wind projects.

In the EU, sustainability targets are having an impact on data centre projects. Its digital strategy is calling for greater energy efficiency and renewable energy use, together with the adoption of waste and heat recovery systems. Our Insight looks at what the main regulatory frameworks affecting sustainability in the data centre sector are, and how they are evolving.

Our in-person "All Day Breakfast" compliance seminar and workshop in London this November will offer roundtables on AI governance and risk management, and use an interactive case study to examine how to respond to potential non-compliance issues in an organisation, setting out the process, principles and practical steps to address challenges.
