Black History Month with David Olusoga

In celebration of Black History Month, please join us for an enlightening evening with historian, best-selling author and award-winning filmmaker, David Olusoga OBE.

David is a leading voice on history and identity, offering a fuller understanding of how the past matters for business and society today. He will be exploring this year's Black History Month theme of 'Standing Firm in Power and Pride' – applying his remarkable gift for storytelling to a powerful, unexpected and enlightening social narrative.

His talk will be followed by an audience Q&A session and informal networking over drinks and canapés.

 

David Olusoga OBE

David  is a historian, writer, broadcaster and Professor of Public History at the University of Manchester. He was awarded an OBE for services to history and community integration in 2019.

As a best-selling author, his book 'Black and British: A Forgotten History' won the PEN Hessell-Tiltman Prize, recognising compelling work that sheds light on underreported historical narratives. David is also known for his documentaries, including 'A House Through Time', and received the BAFTA Special Award for his ongoing legacy and impact on the television industry and society, widening perspectives of how history is presented, and expanding the diversity of stories told.
