The Osborne Clarke Competition team in Brussels is looking for a student to support the team on a part-time or full-time basis during the academic year and over the summer.
Who is the Brussels Competition team?
Our Competition team in Brussels advises on a broad range of matters, including cartels, distribution practices, foreign direct investment control and antitrust compliance. We support clients in all areas of competition law, handling legal proceedings, merger control and antitrust investigations before both national and European courts and competition authorities. The team has a particular focus on the TMT and retail and consumer sectors, as well as life sciences and healthcare.
The team’s work includes:
- Merger control and FDI
- Abuse of dominance
- Cartel
- State aid
- Compliance and dawn raids
- Trade regulations
Our lawyers work in close collaboration across practice groups and jurisdictions, delivering pragmatic, business oriented solutions.

The ideal candidate
We are looking for a student to support the competition team who:
- Demonstrates a strong and genuine interest in competition and EU law; internship experience at an international law firm is a plus.
- Is a native French or Dutch speaker with good command of the other national language, and with an excellent knowledge of English.
- Is currently studying for a Is currently studying for a Belgian law degree and achieving excellent academic results at a Belgian university.
- Is a true team player, with an international mindset.
- Is rigorous, precise, pro-active, eager to learn, highly motivated and pragmatic.
- Has outstanding oral and written communications skills.
