Osborne Clarke's IP Disputes team and UK Head, Arty Rajendra, were honoured last night at an annual awards ceremony held by leading intellectual property magazine, Managing IP.

Osborne Clarke jointly won the Impact Case of the Year Award for its work acting as co-counsel on Unwired Planet v Huawei, securing a major victory in the UK Supreme Court in August 2020. Led by key client Partner, Arty, the long running Standard Essential Patent and FRAND dispute against Huawei, saw Apple, Qualcomm and Ericsson intervene in the case, demonstrating its importance to the telecoms industry as a whole.

Arty joined Osborne Clarke in 2017. She acts in cases which explore the boundaries of IP enforcement, particularly with respect to the English court's powers and jurisdiction in transnational IP disputes. Her patent litigation work is in addition to her brand enforcement practice, acting for some of the world's most loved brands to build and preserve their value and reputation.

Arty commented: "To be involved in a case of such international significance in the field of patent law was an absolute privilege. I am grateful to MIP for recognising our role. Thanks to my team whose commitment, hard work and supportiveness are unparalleled. I also wanted to thank the fantastic team at EIP, with whom I worked closely on this case."

Arty was recognised in The Lawyer's Hot100 2021 for acting on ground-breaking and high-profile matters during the last 12 months and as one of Managing IP's Top 250 Women in IP 2020.
