Osborne Clarke advises Blueleaf Care shareholders on sale to Bunzl
Published on 19 October 2026
International legal practice Osborne Clarke has advised the selling shareholders of Blueleaf Care, a leading UK distributor of care and nursing home products, on its sale to Bunzl plc, the specialist international distribution and services group.
The transaction highlights Osborne Clarke’s capabilities in healthcare M&A and its experience supporting shareholders on strategic exits to international buyers. Working closely with KPMG, the firm provided coordinated legal and transaction support.
Blueleaf supplies care homes with consumables, cleaning solutions, continence care products, equipment, furniture and PPE, supported by distribution centres in the North and South of the UK. The acquisition complements Bunzl’s existing CareShop business, strengthening its position in the UK care home market and broadening its customer proposition.
Blueleaf’s sale to Bunzl is an important milestone for a business serving the UK care sector. The transaction brings together complementary businesses and creates opportunities to support Blueleaf’s next phase of growth. Our healthcare sector knowledge and strategic M&A experience meant we were well placed to advise the selling shareholders.
Blueleaf has been built around a clear purpose: helping care providers deliver the best possible outcomes for the people they support. Joining Bunzl is an exciting next step for the business, bringing additional scale, capability and investment while maintaining our strong focus on customers, colleagues and the care sector. We are proud of what the Blueleaf team has achieved and look forward to seeing the business continue to grow as part of Bunzl.
The Osborne Clarke team was led by partners Alisdair Livingstone and James Mackay, supported by associate director Jack Wellington, senior associate Rebecca Ewing and trainee solicitor Hanga Juhasz (Corporate).
