Raj is a Partner in our real estate team who specialises in regeneration and the property aspects of renewable energy transactions.

He has been involved in a number of separate regeneration schemes for public sector bodies, including the HCA, the LDA, BWB and the London Borough of Hounslow. He has also acted on various renewable energy projects, including on behalf of the Crown Estate and the Round Three project. He combines these areas of expertise with general development and letting work for developers and end users and has also been involved in various PPP/PFI projects, corporate related transactions and disposals and acquisitions.

Over the years he has been involved in the regeneration of Paddington Basin, the development of Hounslow town centre, the development of the Crossrail project on the Isle of Dogs and various regeneration-led projects for the HCA in Ashford, Chichester, East Cowes and Portsmouth. He continues to provide advice to British Waterways in relation to the protection of its assets in the Olympic Park and in Docklands as well as other parts of its nation-wide estate. His continued focus in this area of work will also include residential developers.

In the past Raj combined these elements of work with Islamic finance, including the establishment and disposal of the first shariah-compliant property fund. Raj joined Osborne Clarke in June 2011, having previously been a partner with Norton Rose LLP for ten years, since 2001. He trained at Slaughter and May, where he qualified in 1992, and left them in 1996 for Ashurst, before joining Norton Rose.
