Helping you succeed in tomorrow's world
I am a member of the Partnership Council for Osborne Clarke and a diversity ambassador for OC Reach which is a network embracing the BAME community within the firm. The firm has an established network of individual diversity groups and has made considerable efforts to promote inter-sectional activity within that network to promote and achieve the best outcomes.
Within OC Reach we have regular meetings within the network to monitor the progression and ambitions of the participants within OC Reach to ensure that they can achieve the very best in their individual careers and are able to feel integrated within the practice. Within OC Reach we are currently running a reverse mentor programme to allow people to have open conversations about the matters which they feel may inhibit or suppress their ability to perform at their very best and to just have natural conversations about what it is like to be from a minority group.
For a number of years we have run a talent programme for young and aspiring recruits who would never have been offered the opportunity to experience a City practice. We offer them a week of experience, offer them tasks so that they can develop their skills, introduce them to different practice areas and provide some guidance on interview and application techniques. Each participant is then offered a full 12 month period of mentoring from both a senior and junior mentor so that they can consider their future career path and raise any queries or seek help.
