Julia acts for a wide range of top-tier PLC and regional housebuilders, investors and developers on high-profile, complex projects across the UK. She advises on the full spectrum of residential development matters, with particular expertise in immediate and strategic land acquisitions, overage and option arrangements, joint ventures, promotion and hybrid agreements, affordable housing structures and collaboration agreements.

A core partner in the firm’s Living & Regeneration offering – which sits at the heart of Osborne Clarke’s real estate strategy and growth – Julia helps clients to deliver large-scale, infrastructure-led regeneration schemes. Leveraging her earlier experience acting for banks and insolvency practitioners, she is frequently sought out for her strategic input on banking and corporate transactions involving residential property assets.

Her deep sector insight and commercial approach mean she quickly gets to the heart of her clients’ businesses, aligning legal advice with their strategic and operational priorities. Julia plays a visible leadership role in promoting gender equity both within the firm and across the wider business community. She works closely with the firm’s leadership and with clients to shape policy, advance gender initiatives and challenge barriers to progression. She is particularly focused on supporting women to move into and thrive in senior leadership roles.

Julia has also partnered with our award-winning OC Solutions team to redesign and streamline the handling of real estate transactions. By developing a centralised online reporting process for PLC housebuilding clients, she has helped to deliver greater efficiency, transparency and consistency across high-volume instructions.

Dealt with the largest residential land sale transaction in the UK in 2021, being the acquisition of a 135-acre site in Swindon for Countryside and Sovereign to deliver up to 2,500 new homes

Led the RE team alongside the Corporate team on a £30m acquisition of a block of 95 flats for a PLC client.

Landmark acquisition for a large PLC

Acted on a landmark acquisition in Bristol for a large PLC, which involved a very complicated re-structure of an existing deal. The client commented that she was "extremely efficient and pragmatic" and was "instrumental in driving it through to exchange".
