Jonathan Kirschke-Biller advises on all aspects of AI regulation and data protection law, with particular expertise in the European AI Act.
He helps clients ensure compliance when deploying AI – from designing effective governance frameworks to assessing specific use cases and the practical implementation of regulatory requirements. Another focus of his practice is advising on AI-based and data-driven business models as well as on technology-intensive and regulated products. He also assists clients with the drafting and negotiation of contracts and represents them in regulatory and court proceedings. His clients include both tech companies and companies in the finance, mobility and life sciences/healthcare sectors.
Jonathan studied law in Freiburg and Geneva. During his legal traineeship at the Higher Regional Court of Hamburg, he worked, among other roles, at an international law firm in the field of data protection and at the European Commission in the team responsible for preparing the first draft of the AI Act.
Alongside his client work, Jonathan actively contributes to the professional discourse on AI and data protection law through publications and speaking engagements. His publications include the section on Article 3 AI Act (definitions) in one of the leading German commentaries on the AI Act as well as journal articles and case notes.
