Dewi is an Associate Director in the Dutch Tech, Media and Telecommunications team at Osborne Clarke. He specialises in privacy and data protection law, AI regulation and other digital regulatory frameworks.

Dewi acts for both Dutch and international clients of all sizes. He has a hands-on approach, and his programming background gives him a deep understanding of technology and innovation. He regularly advises on complex GDPR compliance projects, cross-border data transfers, privacy policies, cookies and a wide range of other data protection matters. He also advises on the legal and regulatory aspects of artificial intelligence, including the EU AI Act and related frameworks. In 2022, he completed the Grotius Academy specialisation course in privacy law cum laude.

Dewi is seconded as a data protection officer and privacy officer to various large organisations in the mobility, fintech, retail and IT sectors. These secondments give him a keen understanding of what businesses truly need. His advice is clear, practical and solution-oriented, aligning with his clients' commercial objectives while respecting the law.

  1. A passionate gamer himself, Dewi brings a unique understanding of the market and a genuine connection with the gaming community. He has advised clients in the gaming industry for over seven years, acting for small, mid-sized and large video game companies active across VR gaming, serious gaming, blockchain gaming, mobile gaming, and PC and console gaming.
  2. A strong supporter of the energy transition, Dewi has a particular interest in the intersection of digital innovation and the energy market. He advises on the various legal aspects arising in this space, including the interplay between digital regulations such as the GDPR, the AI Act and the Data Act when developing energy-related initiatives.
