Bernd De Marrez

Bernd De Marrez is an employment & pensions specialist on the Employment team in Brussels and joined Osborne Clarke as Counsel in December 2021 from Baker McKenzie Brussels. 

Bernd is experienced in advising local and international companies on all aspects of individual and collective employment law, social security law and pension law (both statutory and occupational). Recent experience includes:

• advising companies in collective and individual dismissals covering all employment and pension issues arising out of termination of employment contracts;
• pensions implications in restructurings and closure of companies; and
• advising on implementing changes to (pension) benefits, including advice on information and consultation obligations

He has practiced law in Belgium for more than ten years at the Brussels Bar and is a graduate of KU Leuven. After his graduation at KU Leuven, Bernd worked as an assistant at the Institute for Social Law at the KU Leuven and was involved in several pension and social security projects.
