Client work
Ben Fox advises lenders (including banks, funds and alternative credit providers) and corporate borrowers on a wide range of loan products. Since 2001 he has worked on many of the largest and most complex financings in the Dutch market, spanning investment-grade corporate loans, acquisition financings, public offer financings, asset-backed and real estate financings, structured senior and mezzanine facilities, trade and commodity financings and bespoke debt structures for specific projects. He is English-qualified and combines an international practice with a substantial Dutch domestic practice, guiding clients through the origination, refinancing, recapitalisation and restructuring phases of their transactions.

Background
Ben has been active in the Dutch loans market since 2001. As an English-qualified lawyer with a long-standing presence in the Netherlands, he has built a substantial domestic practice alongside his international work. He has played an important role in the development of market standards for legal documentation for European private loan agreements. Ben joins Osborne Clarke from Jones Day, where he co-led the Banking, Finance & Securities practice in the Netherlands, having spent the largest part of his career at Allen & Overy.

Experience
With more than two decades of experience, Ben has assisted lenders and borrowers on a broad spectrum of complex financings, including many of the largest and most sophisticated transactions in the Dutch market. His experience covers investment-grade corporate lending, acquisition and bid financings, secured asset and real estate financings, structured senior and mezzanine loan structures, and trade and commodity financings, across both domestic and cross-border deals. At Osborne Clarke, Ben and Axel van der Staak jointly lead the Banking & Finance practice.
