Launch of new research: Decarbonisation technologies for cities

Join Martin Koehring, senior manager for sustainability, climate change and natural resources at Economist Impact (part of The Economist Group), and our panel of industry experts, as we explore the top 12 decarbonisation technologies for cities around the world.

The world needs clean cities. Currently, they consume over two-thirds of global energy resources and account for more than 70% of CO2 emissions world-wide. According to the UN, 56% of the world's population currently lives in an urban area. That number is expected to reach 68% by 2050.

A new study, produced by Economist Impact and commissioned by Osborne Clarke, identifies through extensive research, 12 technologies that will help cities decarbonise. However, the study finds that most cities do not have the right amount of public or private funding required to implement these technologies at scale.

Our panel will discuss the technologies, including their practical application across industries, and the associated legal risks and opportunities. Following the panel section, there will be dedicated time available for networking with like-minded individuals and our speakers.

We will send you a copy of the technology findings ahead of the event. We hope you will join us for what promises to be a lively and thought-provoking discussion.
