Osborne Clarke was highly commended in the 'Life Sciences Team of the Year' category at the Legal Business Awards last night, in part for its work with German biotechnology company BioNTech.

The Legal Business Awards is one of the most prestigious events in the legal calendar, receiving over 500 entries and boasting a high-profile guest list of over 1,000 attendees in 2023. This year's awards comprised 30 categories that were open to all providers of legal services, from large international firms operating in multiple jurisdictions to in-house teams or chambers.

Osborne Clarke's Life Sciences team was recognised for its work with immunotherapies developer and manufacturer BioNTech advising on its acquisition of pioneering AI-powered drug discovery and development company InstaDeep.

Osborne Clarke's Biotech and Pharma team is one of the firm's fastest growing delivering a 46 per cent increase in revenue in 2022/23. The wider Life Sciences team has grown by 20 per cent in a year which included the hire of two new partners - regulatory expert Peter Rudd-Clarke and IP litigator Trevor Crosse.

With specialists across IP, Regulatory and Corporate Transactions, the team advise for some of the largest, best known and most cutting-edge life science companies in the world. In addition to its significant sectoral focus, the team's heritage in Tech has proved advantageous given the digitalization and technological advances in Life Sciences.
