As the world changes, so do the tax challenges faced by businesses. From the smallest start up to the largest multinational, the tax position of any business is impacted by the manner in which it is conducted and the regulatory environment. Tax also plays a significant role in how those businesses operate and are structured. In particular, changes caused through digitalisation and an increased focus on businesses paying the "right" amount of tax have had, and continue to have, a major impact on the business tax environment.

International and multi-disciplined approach

Osborne Clarke's Business Tax Advisory team has tax specialists in all of our European jurisdictions who combine technical expertise and strong sector knowledge to help businesses find tax solutions and address often complex issues that underpin their activity. Using its experience, the team is able to advise on structuring wholly domestic or international business activities, including advice on the initial establishment of companies or partnerships right through to structuring for large international groups.

We have particular expertise advising on group reorganisations and demergers, the holding and exploitation of intellectual property and research and development activities and financing transactions.  We also regularly advise on VAT and other indirect tax issues, often in respect of cross border supplies of goods and services.

Such advice is often also multi-disciplined - involving Osborne Clarke colleagues in the Corporate, Commercial, Banking and Finance, Intellectual Property and
Regulatory and Compliance services. The team also works closely with specialist firms where necessary - for example in respect of valuations, transfer pricing and accounting advice.
