David Smith

Former international rugby player David is a Senior Associate in our Projects Team specialising in infrastructure projects in both the public and private sectors.

Currently David advises on complex PPP/PFI asset management matters, predominantly for SPVs/infra funds.  This has created a current focus of advising sponsors on all aspects of projects particularly in the hospital and university sectors across the whole life of a project, from conception and structuring of a deal through procurement to advising on operational matters.

David also has significant experience both in the UK and internationally across all aspects of social infrastructure projects, as well as advising a range of public and private sector organisations, including sponsors, funders, sub-contractors and developers in relation to infrastructure and energy projects, major projects and greenfield and brownfield projects.

I have a keen interest in decarbonisation and helping businesses achieve their net zero goals. My area of focus is supporting the development of sustainable infrastructure.

I also support OC's involvement of Vision Path, a social enterprise which has worked with over 5,000 young people to improve their employability skills.  I am also a Mental Health Champion at OC.
