Dr. Marian Alexander Arning, LL.M. has been advising his clients on all aspects of data protection and IT law for many years. A particular focus of his work is advising on data protection law in the areas of life sciences, retail and marketing.

Marian was admitted to the bar in 2011. After working at another international law firm, at Osborne Clarke and abroad, Marian has been back in Osborne Clarke's data protection and IT legal team since 2022.

The clients for which Marian works include international corporations, medium-sized companies and start-ups. Marian advises them on aspects of "classic" data protection compliance as well as on the use of personal data in the context of new, innovative business models. In addition, Marian regularly advises his clients on contractual issues in the area of data protection and IT law, including the drafting and negotiation of contracts.

In addition, he has many years of experience in supporting his clients in supervisory and court proceedings in this area.

Marian has published a large number of articles on data protection and IT law and regularly gives lectures on the subject. Among other things, he comments on the GDPR and the BDSG in a standard commentary on data protection law and is co-editor of a leading handbook on the GDPR. In his doctorate, he dealt with legal issues relating to the electronic health card.
