New colleagues joining in the UK and Sweden

International legal practice Osborne Clarke continues to expand with the appointment four new Partners to its international employment teams in the UK and Sweden.

The announcement follows on from the firm's recent appointments in tax, competition and IP/IT/DP in Singapore, the Netherlands and Brussels.

Kicking off the employment appointments, the UK team has recruited employment heavy-hitter Andrew Chamberlain. Previously Head of the Employment Group at Addleshaw Goddard and more recently the National Head of the Employment team at DWF, Andrew is a well-respected employment partner, with significant experience in advising corporate clients and FTSE 100 employers on all aspects of employment from service agreements through to termination, restrictive covenants to TUPE. Andrew has also spent a lot of time over recent years helping those firms and their clients frame their responses to the ever changing legal market, being named one of the UK’s most innovative lawyers in the FT’s annual Innovative Lawyers Report.

He regularly advises on employment aspects of M&A deals and multi-jurisdictional outsourcing projects and manages large and varied caseloads for large FTSE businesses. Highly-ranked in the Directories for a number of years, both individually and for the teams he has led, Andrew has been referred to by one client as "a vastly experienced employment lawyer who immediately fills you with confidence."

Anna Elliott, previously based in Sydney as a partner at international law firm Squire Patton Boggs, will be joining the team. She is a specialist dual-qualified employment lawyer with over 14 years' experience gained both in the UK and Australia, with a particular focus on workforce solutions, media and entertainment and technology sectors. She has advised several major staffing companies on a range of strategic, public policy and employment issues. Whilst Anna's practice covers the full range of contentious and non-contentious employment matters, her particular expertise includes employment litigation, senior executive hires and dismissals, post-termination restraints, employment aspects of corporate transactions, restructures and managing cross-border employment projects across Asia Pacific.

The team is also expanding in Sweden with two key appointments. Joining from Stockholm-based firm Cederquist and having previously worked for Ashurst, Jenny Jilmstad has been consistently rated as one of Sweden's leading employment lawyers by Legal 500 and Chambers Europe. She advises clients on day-to-day employment issues, as well as acting on employment-related matters in M&A transactions.

Having previously spent nearly two years at Roschier Law Firm, Björn Rustare has significant experience in the field of employment law, including advice related to reorganizations, cross-border business transfers, M&A transactions, privacy issues, collective bargaining agreements, working environment issues and trade union disputes. His previous experience includes working for major Swedish law firms as well as for the Equal Opportunities Ombudsman and major Swedish companies as in-house counsel. He is ranked as one of the leading employment lawyers in Sweden according to both Chambers Europe and Legal500.

The firm also welcomed Parisian partner and employment specialist Jerome Scapoli to the team earlier in the year.

Julian Hemming, Co-Chair of Osborne Clarke's International Employment Team, said: "It's been an exciting year for our international employment team. We've worked closely with our clients advising on the biggest employment issues facing their businesses today, from the future of work and the Brexit Referendum Vote to general data protection regulation and gender pay gap reporting. Our business continues to expand both in the UK and internationally, so it's great to welcome four new highly regarded practitioners to the team. They are a strong fit for the team and share our ambition to grown our employment business internationally."

Osborne Clarke's pan-European employment team has extensive experience in advising a large number of international clients on a wide-range of matters, spanning multiple jurisdictions. The team closely aligns to cross-border sector clients providing in-depth experience in advising on reorganisations and corporate acquisitions and disposals, as well as employment disputes and strategic and reputational support and risk management.
