Tom is a Partner in Osborne Clarke's Commercial Disputes team and advises clients on complex disputes and investigations.

Tom acts for clients across Osborne Clarke's sectors, with a focus on financial and professional services and digital business.  Tom spends the majority of his time working for large professional and financial services clients on business critical disputes, and also has extensive experience working for emerging and established technology companies.   The disputes that Tom advises upon often have an international element, and Tom has recently advised clients on multi-million dollar disputes with connections to the US, India, Morocco, Lebanon and Europe.

Tom also has detailed experience of obtaining and defending injunctions and claims relating to employees exiting businesses and on team moves.

In addition to handling disputes, Tom works closely with clients on both sensitive internal and regulatory investigations, and he has particular recent experience dealing with investigations and enforcement action by the UK's Financial Reporting Council.

Obtaining anti-suit relief for Dell EMC in relation to (a) a claim in Morocco from a local distributor regarding a cloud implementation project ([2017] EWHC 2397 (Comm)), and (b) claims in Lebanon in relation to a breach of an alleged exclusive distribution clause ([2018] EWHC702 (Comm)).

Channel island fund

Advising on a high-value audit negligence claim involving a channel island fund.

Ex-Directors of a football club

Obtaining a successful result at trial in a dispute involving breach of duty by the ex-Directors of a football club ([2019] EWHC 26 (Ch)).

Obtaining a springboard injunction to restrain the use of a client's confidential information by an ex-employee.

Advising an Italian public authority on an interest rate swap dispute, involving complex issues of jurisdiction and conflict of laws.

Advising one of the 'Big Four' firms on two audit negligence claims concerning the collapse of a number of offshore funds, with claimed losses exceeding £20million.

Advising a professional services client on a series of fraud investigations, including advising on cross-border regulatory, criminal and civil aspects of the investigations.
