Omar acts for lenders, sponsors and borrowers on bilateral and syndicated project finance, M&A finance and structured finance transactions generally.

He has a particular focus on the debt financing of infrastructure projects, from renewable energy generation projects to transport infrastructure projects. He has also advised on many regulated consumer finance and financial services transactions and loan-portfolio transactions, with a particular focus on residential shared-equity portfolios. His practice involves acting for clients in the City of London, nationally and internationally.

As head of our infrastructure finance group, it is his role to make sure Osborne Clarke is always meeting clients’ expectations, delivering a fantastic service and a highly technical level of support in a pragmatic and commercial manner.

Omar qualified at Osborne Clarke in 1995 and has been a partner since 2001. He and his team have a reputation as people to do business with, and Omar himself is described as ‘a stand-out banking lawyer’ who ‘allies tailored advice with commerciality and exceptional communication skills” by the 2015 Edition of the Legal500.
