Founded in 1981, the company was taken over by the US-retailer Genesco Inc, Nashville/Tennesse, in 2001. It has more than 110 stores in UK and Ireland, and has an online presence in 28 countries throughout Europe. Its first high street store is located in Centro mall in Oberhausen, and will have a sales area of about 200sqm. Further stores in Germany are to follow. The shoe retailer stocks more than 80 labels, such as Converse, Vans, Ugg, Nike and Adidas, while its own brand Schuh targets young customers between 16 and 24 years.
