Yvette joined OC Queen Street as a Counsel in 2020. Prior to joining the firm, she practised at a magic circle firm, and also worked with Senior and Queen’s Counsel.
Yvette acts on complex cross border disputes, particularly involving international arbitration and litigation. She specialises in technology and employment related disputes and has also handled a broad range of commercial disputes including those involving constructive trust and professional negligence. Yvette has also advised large financial institutions on regulatory matters.
Yvette has expertise in international investment disputes (ISDS), having spent time working with a Queen’s Counsel on bilateral investment treaty disputes at the NUS Centre for International Law. Notably, she participated in the hearing of the first ICSID arbitration commenced against the Sultanate of Oman. She has also published and conducted training in this area.
This depth and breadth of experience enables her to craft effective strategies for the purposes of disputes avoidance, management and resolution.
Yvette graduated on the Overall Dean’s List from the National University of Singapore (NUS) in 2008, having been a consistent feature on the Dean’s List during her time there. An avid mooter, Yvette represented NUS in the prestigious Phillip C. Jessup International Law Moot Court Competition in 2008. She was also part of the team representing NUS in the Asia Cup Moot Court Competition in Tokyo in 2006.
