Simon's role enables him to shape the firm to meet the ever-changing needs of our clients as they themselves adapt to meet the fast-changing economic, regulatory, business and market environment in which they operate.

Whether it’s through our focus on developing Osborne Clarke’s lawyers to advise clients in an industry context, or the extension of Osborne Clarke internationally, it’s Simon’s role to make sure the firm’s vision and strategic plan is coming to fruition. He also makes sure that day to day we are always innovating to deliver the high service levels our clients have come to expect, at the best value we can offer.

He ran the UK business from 2003 to 2014 and was CEO of the international organisation from 2012-2021. Before that Simon was head of our Silicon Valley office, working with US businesses acquiring or investing in Europe. He is a private equity lawyer, and led the corporate practice before he went to the US.

Simon joined Osborne Clarke as a newly qualified lawyer in 1986, and has been a Partner for over twenty years. Simon also brings three decades of private equity and international business experience to our smart cities team. He has recently written articles for The Times and City AM on how laws and regulations need to change to realise smarter cities in Europe.
