Poppy is a Senior Associate in the Financial Institutions Group, with a special focus on payments, e-money and the associated anti-money laundering requirements.

Poppy joined Osborne Clarke as a trainee in 2013 and qualified in September 2015. She works with the full spectrum of clients in the payment and e-money space, including established banks, challenger payment service providers (e.g. card issuers and acquirers), marketplace platforms and start-up fintech companies. She also supports firms that operate at the periphery of the regulatory space, such as processors, programme managers and other technical service providers.

Poppy has extensive experience helping clients obtain FCA authorisation for payment services and e-money issuance and to engage with the FCA for individual guidance. She supports PSPs of all kinds to expand their regulated activities and products, to support with contractual documentation and to build out compliance policies and processes.

She has recently done a lot of work in the emerging and exciting Open Banking space and is familiar with the knotty legal questions that continue to arise for all participants, including TPPs and the account operating PSPs.
