Carlo works extensively in the ambit of decarbonisation, leading operations at the forefront of the energy sector, with a particular focus on renewable and alternative energy sources.
He is the Head of Decarbonisation in Italy and a member of the Italian Energy & Utilities team. He specializes in regulatory, administrative and public law and has extensive experience in energy law (with a specific focus on renewable energy) and in the areas of public procurement, Public Private Partnerships (PPP), project finance transactions, infrastructure and environmental and public services law.
He acts for domestic and foreign businesses, public institutions and companies, banks, developers and international investment funds in developing, investing in and financing projects in the renewables and waste resource management/waste-to-energy.
Carlo supports the development of sustainable infrastructures, challenges connected to funding the transition to net zero carbon, the decarbonisation of transport and tackling the carbon challenge.
He has advised on numerous transactions relating to the financing and construction of photovoltaic, wind-powered, hydroelectric and waste-to-energy plant. He also advises on supply chain structuring, grid connection, power offtake and supply arrangements and renewable incentives.
His experience also extends to the broader implications of environmental law as applied to his practice including international transport of waste, contamination and product compliance.
Carlo has a decade of experience in the management of litigation before the Regional Administrative Court providing legal assistance in many administrative and public law matters.
He is regularly ranked by the main international directories and has been mentioned as a Rising Star in the Energy Sector in Legal 500 EMEA.
Carlo is admitted to appear before the Supreme Court of Cassation.
