Please join us for the third webinar in our ‘Countdown to COP26’ series, run in partnership with our Scottish friends, Harper Macleod.
The session will take place on Tuesday 11 May 2021 at 09:00 BST.
This webinar will provide a COP26 update since February, before we delve into the role that public and private finance plays in us all moving towards Net Zero. Achieving our climate change goals will require affirmative action across all types of finance. In his latest COP26 Finance strategy document Mark Carney noted that:
‘… the objective for the private finance work for COP26 is simple: ensure that every professional financial decision take climate change into account.’
For this webinar we are delighted to be joined by Emma Harvey from the Green Finance Institute. We’ll discuss the roles of the UK Infrastructure Bank and Scottish National Investment Bank, how different types of capital are responding to the climate challenge, the stewardship role in the context of wider societal ESG concerns and the rise of green sovereign bonds.
