We’ve already seen that AI and Machine Learning is being used in an ever-increasing range of commercial applications and now the law and regulation are catching up. A recent White Paper from the European Commission sets out radical proposals on liability for the outputs of AI. In addition, the use of such technology to address the challenges raised in a post-pandemic global environment is also leading to privacy issues which are complex to resolve from a compliance perspective and fundamentally challenges our democratic norms.
This session will cover:
- Recap some of key legal issues involved with the use of AI and ML
- Discuss the recent White Paper from the European Commission and other initiatives, and what we can expect next
- Cover some pandemic-related AI use cases and the specific societal issues that might arise
