Data Protection and Brexit – our insights into what businesses need to be doing now

The Brexit transition period is due to end at 23:00 (GMT) on 31 December 2020, and news came over the weekend that negotiations on a free trade agreement between the UK and the EU have been extended by another month. It may be tempting for businesses to think that, from a data protection perspective, there is nothing to do until we know about the trade agreement and whether the UK will be granted an adequacy decision. However, that is certainly not the case. The end of the transition period potentially means changes to the data protection regimes that UK and EU businesses are subject to, as well as their records of processing, contracts, policies and procedures, and requirements to appointment representatives.

Join our UK data privacy experts in this Q&A style webinar to get their perspective and guidance on the key questions and issues impacting businesses, as well as the practical steps to start implementing now.
