During every autumn and spring, in periods of ten weeks, our OC office in Stockholm takes on law students from universities across Sweden to get hands-on legal experience as thesis trainees.

Who are we?

Osborne Clarke has a strong international presence, with offices across Europe, Asia and the US – and we provide support to US clients looking to expand into Europe. Our Stockholm office opened in September 2017 and is led by a dynamic, growing team with many years’ experience advising both Nordic and international businesses in banking and financing transactions, commercial/IP, corporate and real estate transactions.

About the programme

Our goal is to give our trainees an experience as close as we can to that of an associate. As an OC Trainee, you will not just learn how to apply the law in real situations, you will also learn how to tailor advice to a client’s needs and develop key presentation and professional skills.

We will assign you a ‘mentor’ – an associate who will assist you with any questions you might have and ensure that you always have interesting work to do. We will also involve you in the firm’s social events such as our weekly after works.

Moreover, in the event you are writing your masters’ thesis while doing the Trainee Programme, we are happy to be your speaking partner about ideas and support you with the process of preparing the thesis. You will have access to the firm’s extensive know-how, databases and other resources, along with the unique opportunity to get to know what might be your future workplace. We see this as the perfect way for you to get to know OC Sweden and for us to get to know you.

Who are you?

We seek the brightest individuals who are highly driven and committed to provide high quality work for our clients. To be considered for the position, you need to demonstrate a genuine interest in business law and have excellent academic qualifications. In return for your commitment, we offer you the opportunity to acquire invaluable practical legal skills and insights into the day-to-day life at a law firm. We are passionate about culture and teamwork and have an informal, collegial and fun culture. We strive to be the best law firm by being approachable, knowledgeable and straightforward. Clients appreciate us for these characteristics and are loyal to the firm because of this and we strive to hire individuals who share this approach to legal advice.

We require that you have finished six semesters of law studies when embarking on the Trainee Programme. If you are writing your master thesis while doing the Trainee Programme, we will adjust the Trainee accordingly.
