Estate Administration
divider
The death of a family member is an emotional and stressful time. In administering an estate, the process of collecting in the assets and paying the liabilities dealing with the Revenue and handling other matters arising out of the administration can be complex. We provide the personal representatives and the family with sensitive and efficient support.

We have a dedicated team who deal with estates of all sizes. Our streamlined procedures mean that we can deal with the information gathering stage quickly and efficiently and so minimise the delay until probate is granted and assets can be distributed.

We liaise with the beneficiaries and executors and keep them informed of progress at all times and at the end of the administration period, we prepare full accounts. We also ensure that no more tax is paid on the estate than is necessary and take a proactive role in suggesting tax saving opportunities as they arise, whilst considering the needs and wishes of the beneficiaries of the estate.

Whilst we deal with all types of estates and assets, we have particular experience in dealing with more complicated estates, such as those containing Lloyd's underwriting interests, business, agricultural, foreign and heritage property. Many of our clients come from outside the UK and we are frequently involved in the administration of international estates holding assets in several jurisdictions.

Examples of our recent experience include:
  • administering the estate of Lord Wraxall including arrangements for the property to transfer to the National Trust
