Osborne Clarke has an understanding of the residential development or house building sector and a depth of expertise which makes us a leader in the provision of legal services in this market.

We recognise the critical importance of service delivery at all levels from plot sales to complex transactions, as well as the role that planning, environmental and other specialisms have to play in providing the full service a house builder requires.

We have taken a conscious decision to build upon our existing commercial and residential development expertise, making a significant investment in a stronger team and reflecting the firm's continued commitment to the housebuilder sector. 

Several new residential development specialists joined the team in May 2007 to complement the extensive experience that the firm already has of working on residential development and mixed use projects with housebuilders, land owners, pension funds and other institutions that invest in and develop a wide range of real estate projects.

  • Acting for Redrow (South Wales) in connection with the purchase of a 90 acre site near Bridgend in a joint venture with Bellway
  • Advising Barratt Homes on the purchase of a share on the Gloucester Trading Estate consortium alongside Bovis and Westbury
  • Advising Heron Land Developments on the sale of in excess of 1 acres of fully serviced development land in Stratford-upon-Avon to a number of national house builders for residential development at a value in excess of £25M
