Solar Power Feed in Tariffs – the compensation question…

If you’re involved in the UK solar energy market, you’ll share the frustration of many companies at the continued delay in settling the issue of feed-in-tariff (FiT) subsidies. With the Government determined to pursue the matter through ever-higher courts, the industry is, effectively, at a standstill for many. That’s something that puts the entire future of many solar PV suppliers, developers, installers and investors on the line. In the meantime companies face mounting financial pressures as they struggle to pay overheads and wage bills.
Our press release shows that the issue of compensation will remain unclear until DECC’s second appeal has been heard by the Supreme Court. Even then it is likely to depend on the specific circumstances of each claim. What is important is that companies talk to legal advisors before the Supreme Court hearing. That way, if there is a chance of compensation, action can be taken sooner, rather than later.
