International legal practice Osborne Clarke has advised ProSiebenSat.1 Media SE on the acquisition of a majority share in esome technologies, a leading social advertizing company in the DACH region. The acquisition is subject to approval by the responsible cartel authorities.

The company is an addition to the portfolio of ad-tech investments that ProSiebenSat.1 provides as Advertising Platform Solutions. In the future, the technology will also be used for the KPI-based optimization of display, video and later for addressable TV advertizing.

esome advertising technologies provides the technology and the management of social media campaigns on all social networks, especially Facebook, for advertisers.

An Osborne Clarke team led by IT Partner Konstantin Ewald advised ProSiebenSat.1 on all aspects of the matter including the business model and IT, IP commercial, e-commerce and distribution law related aspects. The team also included Felix Hilgert, Adrian Schneider (both IT law), Dr Sebastian Hack (competition law), Matthias Kloth und Christoph Pitzer (both IP law).
