International legal practice Osborne Clarke has advised Oxford PV Germany GmbH on an European Investment Bank (EIB) financing of €15m. Oxford PV Germany GmbH is a subsidiary of Oxford Photovoltaics Limited, the leader in the field of perovskite solar cells. The financing supports the transfer of its disruptive perovskite on silicon tandem solar cell technology from lab scale to commercialisation.

The EIB funding, awarded to Oxford PV Germany GmbH, is the first financing in Germany under the EU Initiative “InnovFin – EU Finance for Innovators”, with the financial backing of the European Union under Horizon 2020 Financial Instruments – aimed at supporting European innovators such as Oxford PV, tackling tomorrow’s challenges and supporting climate action.

An Osborne Clarke Team consisting of Antje Günther and Jochen Langer advised Oxford Photovoltaics in connection with the negotiation of a loan agreement, security package and fulfilment of conditions precedent.
