As a specialist in employment law, Timo provides legal guidance to national and international companies on collective and individual employment law issues.
A focus of Timo’s practice is on planning and implementing 1st and 2nd generation outsourcing projects in an employment law context as well as company restructuring measures. In doing so, he also represents companies’ interests in relation to works councils and social partners.
Timo also provides advice on contingent workforce, designing and transferring company pension provisions, on performance-based pay, and on alternative measures for reducing HR costs. He provides legal guidance to the managers of start-ups and new companies in respect to matters of social insurance status.
Timo is a member of Osborne Clarke’s India Desk and Nordic Desk. He supports Indian corporations in relation to their German acquisitions and the associated integration of employment law within companies operating in Germany. He has developed models for the international secondment of specialist and management employees.
Due to his good business connections in Northern Europe, he also advises clients from Finland and Scandinavia on their business activities in Germany and on cross-border legal issues.
In his doctoral thesis, Timo dealt with wage agreements governed by the law of obligation and non-exempt social partnership agreements. Timo qualified as a lawyer in 2000 and started his career with well-known law firms, before joining Osborne Clarke in 2005. During the course of a secondment, he also worked for one of Finland’s leading law firms.
Timo publishes and lectures regularly at international seminar events on issues, such as outsourcing and post-merger integration. He is also a visiting lecturer in employment law at the Fresenius University. The JUVE Handbook 2012 recommends him for international issues (secondments, outsourcing).
