Steve Yu

Steve Yu is a co-founder and managing partner of Osborne Clarke’s China Practice. He oversees the China operations and directs practice delivery, growth management and strategies. He previously served in leadership roles at major international firms for over a decade.

In addition to his managerial responsibilities, Steve has advised on complex cross-border transactions for over two decades. He guides international corporate leaders on navigating business opportunities unique to the Chinese market and the wider Asian region.

In this capacity, he provides high-level advice to multinational companies regarding China's evolving business and regulatory environment, including insights into market entry challenges, trading compliance, and risk control solutions.

He is an award-winning expert in M&A and has designed some of China’s largest and most ground-breaking Sino-foreign joint ventures. In addition to his corporate practice, Steve advises technology leaders on strategic IP licensing, R&D and commercialization of IP rights.

A recognized expert in corporate governance, he sits on the supervisory board of two British-invested companies in China.

He received his LL.B. from NCUT in Beijing and his LL.M. from Northwestern Pritzker School of Law in Chicago.
