Based in Osborne Clarke’s real estate development team, Matt provide advice to residential and commercial developers on how to structure their property management solutions by putting in place appropriate levels of service charges, rent charges and management agreements on different types of development. I also advise groups of tenants and managing agents on non-contentious property management issues.

Matt has particular expertise in the design and delivery of property management in mixed use buildings, and sustainable property management solutions. These include on-site combined heat and power plants; roof based solar PV, and integrated sustainable communities that promote social inclusion.

Matt’s practice also includes:

  • ground rent portfolio acquisition and disposals;
  • affordable housing disposals and acquisitions;
  • residents’ management company formation and handovers;
  • exercise of the tenant’s rights to manage;
  • Infrastructure agreements and plot sales site set up.

Matt qualified in 2002 and joined Osborne Clarke in 2007. He is a member and director of the Institute of Residential Property Management (“IRPM”) and sits on the qualifications committee of the IRPM. Matt is also a member of the Chartered Institute of Housing.

Matt is a member of the Association of Decentralized Energy’s district heat and cooling group. Matt is also the author of “Property Management Issues for Lawyers” published by Lulu.
