Adrian is a Partner in Osborne Clarke’s dispute resolution practice. Based in London, he is co-head of the firm’s International Arbitration practice. He specialises in complex international arbitration and in commercial litigation, with 30 years’ experience of this work. Over the years, Adrian has led on many of Osborne Clarke’s largest cases.
Adrian represents clients in the infrastructure, energy, transport, financial, technology and retail sectors, as well as in other sectors. He has handled all types of cases in terms of the subject-matter of the dispute and the legal issues arising. For example, he has conducted cases involving the supply of goods and services; joint ventures; M&A; outsourcing; licensing of IP; financing; construction; anti-trust; bribery & corruption; professional negligence; and theft of confidential information.
Adrian is a CEDR (Centre for Effective Dispute Resolution) Accredited Mediator. He has been involved in numerous successful mediations of all types of disputes. Bringing his many years of experience into play, Adrian will accept appointments to act as Mediator of disputes not involving clients of the firm.
In relation to International Arbitration, Adrian is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators (FCIArb). He has conducted cases under all the leading arbitration rules, e.g. the rules of the LCIA, ICC, AAA, SCC and DIS. His recent cases have taken place in the London/UK, in Oman (Muscat), in Switzerland (Geneva and Zurich), in Germany (Hamburg) and in Sweden (Stockholm). In addition to acting as counsel on cases, Adrian will accept appointments to act as arbitrator on cases not involving the firm’s clients.
In relation to commercial litigation, most of Adrian’s cases take place in the Commercial Court in London. He has acted on many cases involving parallel or related proceedings in the courts of other countries especially in off-shore jurisdictions.
Geographically, Adrian’s main focus is on EMEA, CIS, India and the USA.
Adrian qualified as an English solicitor in 1986 and joined Osborne Clarke as a Partner in 1996, having previously worked at Herbert Smith Freehills LLP.
