A partner since 2008, Umberto has 20 years’ experience in various international law firms, during which he has acquired specific experience advising clients in extraordinary finance transactions (M&A, private equity and equity capital market) and he has gained specific expertise in financial regulation in particular as far as regards alternative forms of finance, payments and fin-tech.

He advises multinationals, financial institutions and investment funds both in extraordinary transactions (acquisitions, mergers, buyouts, investments, listings) and on regulatory and financial compliance matters).

He has also developed specific expertise on the area of payments systems and alternative finance.

Since 2013 Umberto has been Financial services sector head for Osborne Clarke’s Italian offices. In 2016 he was appointed as head of Osborne Clarke International’s Alternative Finance group.

Since 2014 he has represented Italy as one of 40 members of the European Crowdfunding Stakeholders Forum, a group of European experts selected by the European Commission to advise and provide legal advice to the Directorate General “Internal Market” . He is the author of numerous publications on alternative financing and crowdfunding.
