Matthias is the head of the Banking & Capital Markets practice group of Osborne Clarke in Germany.
He is an internationally recognized expert on banking and payment regulation working at the forefront of regulatory developments. He advises a number of German and international established industry players, such as banks, payment service providers and technical service providers, in the conception of the new products and in transactions involving regulated entities. In the past he was involved in a number of prominent product novelties and in a large number of transactions.
In the field of capital markets regulation Matthias focuses on complex capital markets transactions and compliance. He has advised on a number of highly regarded public takeovers, stock exchange listings and publicly issued bonds. He is and was involved in a number of complex and new legal structures, such as recently a debt to debt / mezzanine swap of a bond issuer, complex listing structures of several parallel securities with a number of jurisdictions involved. Among his clients are listed companies in Europe and from North America and other capital markets participants.
Matthias is a frequent lecturer and author on banking, payment and capital markets regulatory matters. He published some well-regarded manuals on regulatory laws.
