The New Deal for Consumers introduces new legislation designed to protect consumers from receiving goods which are of an inferior quality to those sold in other member states – so-called "dual quality" goods. The new rules will force manufacturers to address differences in composition or specification or to increase transparency for consumers in relation to "dual quality" products.
