For eight weeks each year, our office in Stockholm takes on law students from universities across Sweden as summer associates.
Who are we?
Osborne Clarke has a strong international presence, with offices across Europe, Asia and the US – and we provide support to US clients looking to expand into Europe. Our Stockholm office opened in September 2017 and is led by a dynamic, growing team with many years’ experience advising both Nordic and international businesses in commercial/IP, corporate and real estate transactions.
About the programme
For our summer associate position, we are looking for the brightest talent to work with some of the top-tier businesses in Sweden and in the world. To be considered for the position, you need to demonstrate a genuine interest in commercial and corporate law and have excellent academic qualifications.
In return for your summer commitment, we offer you the opportunity to acquire invaluable practical legal skills and insights into the day-to-day life at a law firm. Our goal is to give our summer associates an experience as close as we can to that of a new associate. As an OC summer associate you will not just learn how to apply the law in real situations, you will also learn how to tailor advice to a client’s needs and develop key presentation and professional skills.
We will assign you a ‘mentor’ – an associate who will assist you with any questions you might have and ensure that you always have interesting work to do. We will also involve you in the firm’s social events, such as the OC summer party.
Who are you?
We seek the brightest individuals who are highly driven and committed to provide high quality work for our clients. We hire people who are humanists with their own individual attitude. We are passionate about culture and teamwork and strive to have an informal, collegial and fun culture. We strive to be the best law to work for and to work with by being approachable, knowledgeable and straightforward. Clients appreciate us for these characteristics and are loyal to the firm because of this and we strive to hire individuals who share this approach to legal advice.
We require that you have completed at least six semesters of law studies when the programme starts. We also expect that you have very good academic qualifications. You should have very good knowledge of spoken and written English. The quality of your application determines whether you will be invited to an interview with our associates and partners at our offices, where the final decision will be made.
The period of employment is eight weeks beginning mid-June.
The recruitment process starts in November. Please apply here. Make sure to include a cover letter, curriculum vitae and your grades from relevant studies. If you have any questions, please contact Kim Bergman and Gabriel Liska.
